Peterson, Campoli & Associates CPAs, PLLC is a diverse accounting firm in downtown Schenectady that services clients in the capital region and beyond. We provide tax and accounting services to individuals, small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, estates, and trusts.

We are looking for a Tax Preparer that wants to be part of our growing team of professionals for the upcoming January to April 2026 season .

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals. (Experience with corporations, partnerships, and non-profits trusts and estates is a plus but not required).
  • Identify potential deductions and credits to minimize tax liability
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information
  • Utilize accounting software, such as Lacerte to prepare tax documents (QuickBooks is a plus)
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet client deadlines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in public accounting is preferred
  • Experience with Form 1040, Schedules C, D & E.
  • Experience with Lacerte tax program and QuickBooks a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Hours

  • PCA is open for business Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexible work schedule is possible
  • The expectation of this position is between 20-40 hours per week from February 15 to April 15.
