Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the overall objectives of the department by applying appropriate accounting principles to transactions, reconciling and analyzing accounts, maintaining appropriate records, and supporting the business unit. Pay range $50k-$65k.    This position will be hybrid requiring 2 days on site at our Cleveland facility at 4259 E. 49th St.

Qualifications

Essential Functions Performed by the Position 

• Timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
• Prepare and maintain adequate support for all transactions and journal entries.
• Participate in monthly G/L closing and preparing journal entries as required.
• Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts at month-end.
• Participate in the annual physical inventory or cycle counting process.
• Assist with annual audit by external public accounting firm.
• Calculation and filing of sales and use taxes.
• Focus on continuous improvement of work with additional attention on reducing and eliminating waste.
• Special projects as needed.

Additional Information

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables and look-up functions).

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 1-2 years of previous experience (would consider internships as experience)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
