MINIMUM 1 YEAR OF RECENT MECHANICAL AND MACHINING EXPERIENCE
Connect staffing is hiring a skilled Research & Development Technician to process and test equipment for a drilling company in the city of Houston, TX.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00PM - 5:30 AM
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of recent mechanical and machining experience.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or one to two years related machining experience and/or training, and one to two years related mechanical testing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Operational and Machining skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to accurately document data
- Must have a safety and quality mindset.
- Ability to efficiently manage time, and organize
- Occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

Responsibilities:
- Safely and consistently operates dynamic mechanical tests apparatuses (“mini-dynos”)
- Organizes and records processing and testing data and assists with written reports.
- Recognizes abnormalities in dynamic mechanical test apparatus results and suggests alternatives based on experience.
- Proactively works to improve consistency of test results.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and orderly work area.
- Ensure all personal protection equipment is monitored and used at all times.
- Machine parts as necessary for operating dynamic mechanical test apparatus.
- Assembly and disassembly of dynamic mechanical test apparatus as required.
- Perform stator heat tests, and other miscellaneous tests as needed to support new compound development and stator sizing specifications.
- Perform preparation of laboratory samples such as adhesive coupons, tensile bars, and swell buttons for laboratory testing.
- Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.
- Properly uses and cares for equipment.
- Supports "team" concept of getting the job done.
- Performs other duties as directed or required.
