Job Description

Position Overview:

 

We are looking for an experienced Fire Protection Engineer Project Manager to join our expanding Mid-Atlantic team. You’ll collaborate with skilled fire protection engineers and managers to offer professional support on complex fire and life safety matters, including code consulting, fire protection design, and inspections for various stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidates should have 7+ years in Fire & Life Safety, capable of managing projects, engaging clients, and mentoring junior staff. 

 

Salary package: base salary range is between 100k-160k + profit sharing plan + performance-based bonuses. 

 

Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Oversee multiple projects from start to finish, including multi-phase projects.
  • Create project plans, assign tasks, and ensure timely updates on progress.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, manage project budgets, and monitor resource needs.
  • Hold regular meetings to review project feedback and improve processes.
  • Mentor junior consultants and provide opportunities for client interactions.

Technical Support & Design

  • Act as a technical resource for the team, supporting internal initiatives.
  • Provide performance-based design solutions, including fire and egress modeling.
  • Review architectural plans and ensure compliance through on-site inspections.
  • Prepare detailed code reports and review deliverables from team members.
  • Conduct inspections of safety systems and commissioning to ensure compliance.

Client Relations

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout project delivery.
  • Develop proposals, define project scope, and manage pricing.
  • Promote the company’s core services and explore cross-selling opportunities.
  • Attend client meetings and work with authorities to ensure project alignment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in fire protection (preferred), mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, architectural, or industrial engineering.
  • 7+ years in fire protection and life safety engineering.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • Leadership, strong work ethic, and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Professional Engineering licensure preferred.
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit proficiency preferred.
