Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree inSocial Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. Candidates without a state license can be consideredbut must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. This period may be extended by up to an additional 60 days of training at the sole discretion ofthe employer.
- Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Must have one year ofexperience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating orworking with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have excellent written, verbal, andinterpersonal communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational andattention to detail skills in order to track and prepare data accurately andtimely.
- Must have the ability interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Additional requirements include: cultural competency, the ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, and a willingness to be flexible.
