Paraprofessional
Terms of Employment : Minimum 12-week Assignment
Reports to: Building Dean
Compensation: Pays up to $20 per hour
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Two years of college or high school graduation; Valid DE Teaching Certificate Preferred.
- Paraeducator training is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including administrators, colleagues, students, parents, and others.
- Current police, child abuse, FBI, and Act 24 background checks.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Paraeducator, you will play a crucial role in supporting certified teachers and students with special needs. Your responsibilities include:
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively assist in implementing lesson plans, providing reinforcement, instruction/tutoring, and documenting student progress throughout the school day.
- Observe, monitor, and redirect the behavior of assigned students during regular classroom time, special class times, transition periods, and field trips according to school and program procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior for school programs and external agencies as required.
- Assist the teacher with testing, record-keeping, and progress monitoring for assigned students.
- Under the teacher's guidance, communicate with parents and staff regarding student progress and participate in interdisciplinary and inter-agency meetings as necessary.
- Be flexible in responding to additional needs that may arise based on individual cases.
- Provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students, enforcing school policies and procedures consistently to ensure the health and safety of all.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
- Uphold a professional, confidential, and ethical relationship with colleagues, students, and parents at all times.
- Attend and actively participate in all faculty meetings, in-service sessions, and other meetings as required.
- Stay informed about educational developments, including PDE regulations and state/national standards, through ongoing professional development, workshops, and conferences.
- Perform related duties, special assignments, and projects as assigned.

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
