Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Mother-Baby Care Unit in Dallas. This pivotal role is responsible for leading and managing the department's functions in alignment with our mission and goals. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a robust background in critical thinking and decision-making within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient safety within Postpartum and Newborn Nursery environments.
  • Utilize effective communication and information management skills in daily operations.
  • Implement and uphold the ANA Standards of Care and Professional Practice.
  • Act as a liaison to enhance partnerships with patients and their families.
  • Support the continuity and coordination of care across various settings.
  • Maintain high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for patient populations ranging from infants to adults.
  • Develop and lead Women’s Health-specific initiatives and process improvements.
  • Foster collaborative practice and relationships with all healthcare team members.
  • Oversee management of staff, payroll, budget, capital planning, and physician relationships.
  • Coordinate with community and institutional partners.
  • Supervise the organization of human and material resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of recent acute care leadership experience in a Mother-Baby Unit, though consideration will be given to those with 2 years of experience if they have held a supervisory role with responsibilities related to people management and process improvements.
  • Licensure/Certification: A current RN license in the State of Texas or a compact license is required. Candidates must hold a current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider card, along with NRP certification.
