Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Band, Chorus/Vocal, Music (General), Music Therapy, Orchestra.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
Newcastle Public Schools has an opening for a High School/Middle School band director. The director will be responsible for teaching all bands: 6th, 7th, 8th, HS Marching and Concert Band (9-12) and other courses as needed. Our band program consistently scores high in marching and concert performances and has excellent parent, community, and administrative support. The position requires good communication and organizational skills. Ideal candidates should hold an Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in the field of instrumental music or be in the process of completing certification requirements. Newcastle Public Schools is a growing community and a 4 day school week.
