Licensed Practical Nurse
Full Time | Day Shift | Monday-Friday | 8am - 5 pm
**Salary up to $64,000/year, based on experience**
Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for LSS Health Center (formerly Health Center at Faith Mission) in Columbus, Ohio. What will I do as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Lutheran Social Services?
- Ensure smooth office operations which support teamwork and generate a positive attitude between front and back-office staff.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and customer service orientation to clients, peers, and providers. Will work in collaboration with medical assistants, staff and providers.
- Able to effectively perform the tasks and procedures required of an LPN in a primary care clinic setting.
- Take Vitals
- Perform CLIA waived laboratory test.
- Take and document client's history and chief complaint.
- Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures using sterile field.
- Performs phlebotomy services and processes specimens for send out.
- Order referrals/consults/procedures for patients and track their results for follow-up.
- Attends internal meetings as assigned and participates in Quality Improvement activities as assigned.
- Responsible for adhering and enforcing policies and procedures to staff regarding appropriate dress code, professionalism, courtesy, and punctuality.
- Onboard and train new Medical Assistants.
- Assist in Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance as needed.
- Assists medical providers in the exam room and gives clear instruction to patients as instructed by provider.
- Ensures all reports, labs and patient information are filed and available in the patients' medical record prior to their appointment.
- Serves as a liaison between patients and/or staff and the provider.
- Maintains all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temps, glucometer logs, autoclave, etc).
- Documents patient information thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following company policy and procedures under the supervision of the Director of Operations.
- Answer and respond to messages left on the nurse triage line.
REQUIREMENTS for a Licensed Practical Nurse with Lutheran Social Services:
- High school education or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- LPN License
- BLS Certification
- 2 years' experience in outpatient setting
- 1-year supervisory experience.
