Job Description
Bashor Children's Home is seeking an Independent Living and Vocational Coordinator that is dedicated to helping youth in residential care develop life and job skills, working closely with a team to create personalized service plans. The role involves coordinating on-campus job programs, off-campus employment opportunities, and providing coaching for independent living. The Coordinator also collaborates with families and community partners to support successful transitions to independence.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field (MSW, Counseling, etc.), license-eligible (e.g., LSW).
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must pass background checks, drug screen, physical, and fingerprints.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide care in line with Bashor's solution-focused, evidence-based, and family-centered approach.
- Follow agency policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Apply evidence-based practices (EBPs) like Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and The Seven Challenges.
- Stay updated on child welfare trends.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Complete case documentation in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
Program-Specific Responsibilities:
- Use assessments (i.e. Ansell-Casey Life Skills, CANS, etc.) to identify needs for independent living and vocational skills.
- Support youth and families in identifying goals and objectives throughout care and into aftercare.
- Facilitate groups, provide individual support, and connect youth to community resources.
- Help youth with job training on and off-campus, and offer coaching on independent living skills.
- Work with the team to plan vocational and life skill activities.
- Build partnerships with community stakeholders for independent living opportunities.
- Work as a site supervisor for our vocational training program
PAY SCALE: Base pay starts at $40,310.40/year with premiums available for licensure.
