Job Summary
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the full spectrum of Human Resources functions within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The site specializes in producing high-quality ingredients for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications, with a strong commitment to sustainability, operational excellence, and employee well-being. The intern will support daily HR operations and contribute to initiatives across employee engagement, compliance, benefits administration, onboarding, and more. This position is ideal for individuals looking to explore the HR field in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.
Job Description
- Serve as a point of contact for employee medical leave tracking and procedures
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records
- Support preparation for federal/state compliance reports, audits, and special projects
- Participate in quality audit teams
- Assist with policy reviews, updates to job descriptions, and compliance documentation
- Employee Benefits Management
- Support new hire benefits administration and vendor data entry
- Manage benefit updates for terminated employees, including COBRA notifications
- Prepare annual benefit summaries and Total Rewards Statements
- Assist with benefits reporting
- Oversee employee recognition and attendance programs
- Assist with planning business meetings, town halls, and wellness initiatives
- Manage internal media communications (monitors, announcements, etc.)
- Help coordinate events such as holiday parties, benefits enrollment, and employee milestones
- Generate reports including weekly headcount, HRA summaries, and finance-related data
- Support month-end and year-end HR reporting
- Assist in scheduling interviews and supporting the onboarding process
- Ensure cross-functional coordination for new hire equipment, training profiles, and benefits enrollment
- Update and maintain HRIS information
- Post internal HR communications
- Assist with payroll, policy updates, and IT coordination as needed
- Maintain recognition efforts for birthdays, anniversaries, and other employee events
Skills Required
- Strong ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to HR practices and systems
Education
- Bachelor degree completed or in progress
Additional Requirements
- Familiarity with HR software is a plus
