Geriatric Home Care Aide for Paraplegic Client

Location:  Sarasota 
Job Type: Part-Time (Saturday Shift)
Shift: Saturdays, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable LPN/RN to assist a high-functioning, cognitively aware paraplegic client with daily activities and medical needs. The ideal candidate will have experience providing care for individuals with mobility challenges and be skilled in managing G-tube care, medication administration, and assisting with daily activities of living.

Responsibilities:

• G-Tube Care: Assist with G-tube maintenance, flushing, and ensuring proper care and hygiene.

• Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications as directed and monitor for side effects.

• Personal Care Assistance: Help with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.

• Mobility Support: Assist with repositioning and transfers (using proper techniques to ensure safety and comfort).

• Transportation: Occasionally drive the client to and from appointments using their personal vehicle.

• Companionship: Provide social interaction, engage in meaningful conversations, and assist with any cognitive activities the client enjoys.

• Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in health or behavior, ensuring the client’s well-being throughout the shift.

  Qualifications:

• Current unencumbered LPN/RN license in the state of Florida
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in a supervised setting within the last three (3) years
• Successful completion of the skills assessment specific to the areas of experience including any specialty areas
• In compliance with state and Federal regulations
• CPR
• Valid AHCA/ level two background screening
• TB test showing a negative result
