Job Description

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community,and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse populationThe AssistantDirector will aid in the supervision of all intercollegiate athletic programs.The position will also be responsible for NJCAA compliance and eligibility,overseeing fiscal operations (purchasing and receiving), event scheduling, andhome game management. The Assistant Director will assist in managingRecreation & Wellness Center programming, including scheduling staff.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in establishing annual goals to ensure that athletic programs are consistent with institutional and department priorities;
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining active communication with all appropriate campus and college offices in order to promote the integration of athletics into the broader educational mission of the College;
  • Oversee all financial operations in PeopleSoft, coordinate payment of home game event staff (officials, student workers, etc), and reconcile coaches' credit cards.
  • Manage NJCAA eligibility including clearing all Student-Athletes for participation through NJCAA Force;
  • Schedule all athletic events, including coordinating with off-campus venues and is responsible for securing officials, arranging for transportation, and designating personnel necessary for program implementation;
  • Manage all home events, assist with field/court set-up, and greet opposing teams and officials;
  • Partner with Coordinator of Health and Wellness on college-wide programming;
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all national, regional, and college regulations and policies regarding the athletic program;
  • Represent MassBay Community College at professional conferences and meetings related to athletics, intramurals, tournaments, and related activities;
  • Assist in recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of coaching personnel and part-time support staff;
  • Supervise the purchase, distribution, and maintenance of department uniforms, equipment, and supplies;
  • Work closely with appropriate campus personnel to ensure proper maintenance and utilization of all athletic facilities including athletic field;
  • Serve on College and campus committees;
  • Assist in coordinating all activity at the Recreation and Wellness Center;Develop and implement safety programs for activity at the Wellesley Fitness Center;
  • Assist in supervising work-study staff and coordinate work schedules;
  • Coordinate recreation activities/programs;
  • Monitor maintenance needs of RWC and fitness equipment and report concerns to facilities staff when necessary;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • Two or more years of related experience within a college athletics department .

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $75,000.00 - 80,000.00 Annual Salary
