Life Academy in Roanoke, VA is looking to hire individuals to assist with out After School Program. We are located on 7422 Deer Branch Road, off of Peters Creek Road. Life Academy is a well-established Christian Childcare center offering care from 6 weeks to 5th grade.
Our ideal candidate is energetic, a self-starter, motivated, and reliable. Applicants with previous work experience with children, and are willing to meet the physical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs of children, have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are asked to apply.
After School consists of picking up children from the local schools, greeting them and engaging with them about their school day, serving afternoon snack, assisting with homework time, leading in a devotional and small group activity, etc. Communicating with patience and understanding with both students and their parents is critical to developing positive relationships. Young adults who can mentor and provide a positive role model to our children is who we are seeking as their leaders.
Working for our afterschool program is a part-time position (25-30 hours per week, 2:00 - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday). We have around 50 children enrolled and operate in two-three groups of 15 children.
